The particles of the Hall thruster come from a rare gas, xenon gas, and the xenon lamp made from it is a popular lighting device on the market.

Xenon is easily ionized, and the working current of the hernia lamp only needs 3.5A, which produces a white super-strong arc light, similar to the sunlight during the day.

The headlights of our common cars are filled with xenon gas, which allows them to illuminate the road ahead in the dark night. Improvements to Hall thrusters

The first is the particle source used by the Hall thruster, ionization from xenon gas.

Although xenon is good, but the content is too small, it is a rare gas, and the content in the atmosphere is almost negligible.

Human xenon mainly comes from nuclear fission, and xenon atoms will be born at the site of the atomic bomb explosion, and xenon comes from the fission reaction of massive atoms.

Such sources make xenon very expensive.

Scientists have tried to use other rare gases, such as the cheaper krypton instead of xenon, which has been used in Space X's Starlink program.
